This is one of the stupidest thing I have seen in my life. That too from a VPN company which practically should have no reason to tell me [a user (I am not really a surfshark user] what I am reading is right or wrong.
If they had flagged the site based on a list made by AP or Reuters, it is one thing. They have taken the list from this sketchy site https://www.propornot.com/p/home.html which has flagged some really weird news sites and blogs.
They have also turned on the feature ON by default. I believe it should be OFF by default. If a user wants to use such a feature, he has a right to use it, but it should not be forced on all users.
To add on to it, there might be a privacy compromise made for this feature to function. It is not only flagging sites if the user is trying to connect directly via url, but it lists the YY letters on the search engine itself or on different websites were the article url is present.
