I love the idea. Gliders would need some guidance to get to the targets (and should rely primarily on inertial navigation). The mothership would be a high value target, however, and for the gliders to cover a longer range, it'd need to fly at a higher altitude. Ideally the gliders should be dropped from uncontested airspace from an altitude high enough for them to reach their targets.
