Good. This is a non-story. Calling for violence against ruthless (non-civillian) invaders is appropriate.

Allowing calls for violence against "those who deserve it" is little different from allowing calls for violence against anyone. Be careful about what you wish for.
It's calls for violence only against the military. They chose to join the military, and they are literally paid to kill Ukrainians.
Do you REALLY think that any call to violence on platforms like Facebook will remain within any stated limits?
I don't know or care. The article is about a change of policy.

Whether or not Facebook follows its own policies is a separate issue. This policy, if followed, is reasonable. There's no reason they need to remove calls for violence (some would say "resistance") against soldiers in order to protect Russian civilians. Facebook moderators are asked to make much more complex decisions all the time.

What I tried to say, and didn't communicate very well apparently, is that the people who can now let that inner demon loose will do so and this will spill over into other areas of human interaction. This will not stay confined purely within one little area of one communications channel. Let's hope this madness is curtailed before some nutcase thinks it's OK to attack an old man because he's wearing a vaguely military jacket and he spoke a foreign language that sounds like Russian. If you think that's farfetched then you really should refresh your memory a bit on recent hate crimes.

And you have far more faith in "human moderators" than I do.

Really? Regular Russians deserve it? Since when Russophobia is fine?!
I believe that the people of a country are responsible for the actions of their leaders. I do not believe that platforms like Facebook, et al, are morally justified in allowing calls for violence against "those who deserve it".
You justified the Middle Easte hatred towards all Americans! You should be ashamed of you derailed thinking!
Really? What bullshit is this? Citation please.
Call me cynical but there’s got to be a profit motive in here.

There are far too many people (bots?) online baying for blood. I’m sure that drives clicks.

Well for all practical purposes, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Twitter basically control what can or can not be said at this point. This is unlikely to end well.
Meanwhile, try doing this with the Saudis and Qataris, that have been bombing the hell out of Yemen - I got a 30-day ban of just pointing out the hypocrisy of the West!
