Sometimes I wonder if the prevalence of random chance in the guise of determining if an action had the favor of the gods (here with dice but there were plenty of other ways) helped Rome succeed and if we should implement similar randomness into governance today. I.e. roll the dice to determine which bills go up for a vote today
Given how much bullshit politicking has taken over legislation, a bit of randomness might do us good.
