I used to get food poisoning fairly often (Every 3 months or so). Usually from some restaurant on a road trip or a fast food place. At home I was extremely careful and managed to avoid the worst stuff by checking temperatures and storing properly.

Since becoming a vegetarian I haven't had food poisoning once in years. Articles like this just cement that idea. The FDA and health inspectors are hardly doing their jobs. I often speculate that they are a means of regulatory capture with no intention of preventing misdeeds by big actors aside from the occasional slap on the wrist. They only ever seem to come down hard on small farms, suppliers, and kitchens.
