Ask HN: Are a lot of people gonna quit because of back to office?

Wondering if other people are feeling the vibe that everybody wants to get the flexible role, even if it's a slight pay cut.

The development group in my company intends to stay fully remote by default and to offer a limited amount of office space to those who are local and want a hybrid arrangement. I'm 2500 miles away so I'm not going to spend much time there!
How big is your company? That’s ideal imo. Or have a meet up every month or two. Or have a quarterly week somewhere.
I like 2r3o hybrid mode. It's a lot better for my mental than the other two options.

If I get to choose between 5r or 5o, I would have to pick full remote unless I have a lot of personal days or policy is flexible.

I take 2r3o (first time I've seen that notation) to be 2 remote, 3 onsite. That's basically what my office is doing. Some teams are more like 5 days onsite with the flexibility to occasionally work from home, and others are the opposite. The majority, though, are doing the 2r3o (if I parsed your phrasing correctly) thing. It's about 10% each at the two extremes, and 80% doing part-time in the office.
Yeah that's what I meant by 2r3o. I'm lucky enough to have a job that fits both.
I don't to work remote. I use an office nearby to be around people when I don't need to.
Is everyone here being forced back to office? I hear about the big ones like Google, but what about outside FAANG? Are most other companies forcing their employees to go back to the office?

My company (med devices) is asking everyone to come back to work full time. Attrition is expected and hiring has been ramped up pre-emptivly to compensate. I suspect flex roles will eventually find their market price at reduced compensation relative to full-time work.
I'm not.
