Having perceived the Emperor's bare ass; why say something about it? Sure we thought society was better than this; but as it's proved it is not; what possible benefit to oneself in pointing out the failure?
Do we still believe that if enough of us "be the change we want to see" we can get the more just, better society back? Did we ever have it in the first place?

Despite the articulation of sound principles (Character over appearance), we that movement ever about principle or was it just used for a while by the wielders of the propaganda cannon? And today, when it's convenient for those cannoneers to invert those principles, they've no shortage of such ammunition to spew forth either.
