I'm so sick of cars. The SUVs in my area are all luxury vehicles, solely driving rich children to school, and going to the shops. Absolutely zero reason to own one. If you truly need an SUV you probably need a tire compressor. I ride my road bike all the time and they are also the worst drivers, I don't have much empathy.
As the news about climate change continues to get worse I export more of this sort of thing to happen. It will probably become more militant over time as well.
As much as I dislike SUVs and think they're unnecessary I don't see how this helps in the big picture. Is someone really that likely to not buy an SUV because they're afraid someone will deflate their tires?
Even so- where we do draw the line on safety? When does this cause an accident because someone didn't notice a flat tire and drives on the freeway with it?
Strictly speaking, isn't every driver responsible to check that their vehicle is in working order before driving? And aren't tire pressure sensors compulsory in the EU and the USA nowadays? If you miss the sensors' warnings and/or don't realize you are having a flat tire after a short while, maybe you should have your drivers license revoked.
I don't disagree but I don't have faith that other drivers are properly paying attention to those types of things on their vehicles. I just don't see flattening others' tires as a good thing- it's vandalism.
