With all the Russia talk these days, I rarely see this guy mentioned, no idea why. If you really want to understand Putin, read The Fourth Political Theory or his book on Eurasia, I forget what it’s called. This guy has laid the blueprint for a Russian (and Eurasian) nationalism that we’ll be seeing for a while.

I think that he is nowhere as influential as reddit thinks.

This is the conclusion I came to a few years ago when trying to find out why nobody had ever bothered to translate his writings into english:

Reddit usually points out that what he writes aligns pretty well with what putin seems to think. The problem is just that this is what almost every russian fascist thinks, it is nothing unique about dugin, he is just the one russian fascist thinker that reddit got their eyes on...

Conversely Putin reportedly makes it required study for all of his regional administrators.
But how do you know that?

Is the source dugin himself?

I’ve never seen him mentioned on Reddit, but his writings have absolutely been translated into English.
