Much easier to carry then gold...
Article says $2000 USD in bitcoin. That's currently 31 gram in gold (62.52 USD per gram, 1944.57 USD per ounce). Actually easy to carry. Harder to sell, split etc of course.
I email/matrix myself GPG encrypted files of my wallets so I don't even need to carry them... so definitely easier to carry.
…but where do you store that key?
assuming the Internet doesn't go down, I store it online, encrypted, in the public view... I can send you my wallet, if you want (the key to it is in my mind)
Easy to carry in terms of weight, not easy to carry through a warzone where a malicious actor would more easily recognise its value
Not quite sure what your saying, other than nothing is easy to carry through a warzone. How would anyone even know you have your Bitcoin private key hidden on a USB stick?

I think he's talking about the gold... much harder to hide...

Christopher Walken got a gold watch out of a prison camp.
A few questions:

1. Why couldn't he withdraw cash once he was outside the warzone?

2. How is someone moving a mere $2000 across the border news?

I think the real feat is escaping Ukraine as a male. That is a story
Felony, not to mention a potential treason.
Not sure if that was intended as judgement but you can’t really blame a guy for not jumping into a meat grinder. Honestly I think it’s an interesting story about how he got past the people trying to kill him.
