Google execs push back on employee pay concerns (protocol.com)

I'm not sympathetic to the plight of googlers making only $750k a year, but I do find the general indifference and tone-deafedness of upper management a little bit surprising.

It so irritates me to see the "Amazon doubles salary" argument. Amazon didn't double the total package, they just reapportioned it to compensate for less expected stock profit.
