I think this guy just hates America and hates that people successfully buy into the concept of the American Dream. This is like saying, “Allah doesn’t exist and you’re a stupid moron for building your country around him.”. You can kvetch all you want but clearly a lot of people have successfully built their countries around Islam and clearly a lot of people have actualized the American Dream.
Kind of rings hollow when more than 8% of the US are millionaires (https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/09/more-than-8-percent-of-ameri...). Add on the fact that the percentage of millionaires here is probably a large multiple of that 8% and there's probably not going to be much sympathy from HN's readership.
