The GitHub discussions for Atom have been flooded with spam bots for days (github.com)

There's an open issue where the maintainer pledges to ban some of them. https://github.com/atom/atom/issues/23978. But Atom is currently in a maintenance mode and one (volunteer?) contributor can't manually moderate against an army of bots. It's disappointing to see that Microsoft hasn't moved on this, considering how historically spam-free Github has been.
