Most Americans support the bill when they are informed about it.

https://pos.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/POS-National-Poll... “Don’t say gay?” When Americans are presented with the actual language of the new Florida law, it wins support by more than a two‐to‐one margin. Voters across partisan lines strongly support the new Florida law after being provided with the actual language of the bill: “Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in Kindergarten through third grade or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”

Who decides “appropriate”?

Drop the “or” clause and you might have a valid point. But then, this means dressing people in blue or pink or any other kind of gender stereotype carries risk. “Let them choose” vs. “There is no choice” or “I’ll tell you what you are” is very thin ice.

Or are you just saying that most Americans are religious or social bigots?

The overwhelming majority of parents don’t want strangers discussing any topic of sexuality with their kids aged 3-8. Not even straight parents want straight sex topics discussed with their kids. This stuff is taught after puberty. That has long been decided as “inappropriate” for children.

If you want to discuss sex with your kids at age 5 that’s up to you. Don’t bring it up with my kids. Thank you
