Ask HN: When will ACL on Linux be part of the DE?

By "part" I mean in the properties of the file or folder you can configure ACL with ease.

Is there anything blocking for this integration/improvement of the DE(Desktop Environment) to happen?

Could you be more specific? Do you have a particular desktop environment in mind? Or a particular bug? Or would you rather see it implemented in a different way? Eg. KDE/Plasma has this feature for more than 10 years.

Edit: maybe you mean Gnome Files, which lacks ACL support[1], but there is Eiciel extension to handle it[2].

I was talking in general, and I guess my knowledge of kde was lacking, but for Nautilus that extension should become part of it, natively :D

I know Eiciel as the standalone app, didn't knew it was also an extension, it was a chore to use as standalone

ps: thanks for the first reference, I added a like and shared an agreable comment for such feature ;)
