The body does a lot of very interesting things just before you die. Hospice nurses will tell you that bedridden people, who haven't spoken in days, will get up and seem back to normal. Apparently, the body floods itself with hormones to ease you into death, which makes people appear much better.

I wonder if the brain does this as a way to ease itself into death. To make it less painful.
