Personally, I have little doubt that there is misinformation coming from both sides. My local media is only demonising one side of the conflict which makes for a good narrative but seems unlikely. This definitely doesn't make either side innocent, nor does it mean that one side is solely responsible for all of the war crimes.
I absolutely do not condone what is happening, I believe that we'll need 15-20 years before the truth starts coming out. Plus a lot more time after that to even have a chance of seeing what really happened.
Some time after this conflict has ended, the actual truth of events will be known. Only to a small, contentious group of questionably motivated professionals and passionate amateurs, who get to fight about how the history gets written.
The history as it will be known to people of the future will not likely have a lot to do with any facts on the ground at the time of events.
Ok that subject I appreciated this thread which pointed out that despite propaganda on both sides, journalists are allowed to freely report the truth of what they see, unlike in Russia. Of course we all know that in the heat of the moment truth can be subjective but the absolute stranglehold the state has over media in Russia is a very different thing than pro-Ukraine war propaganda.
