Finally Americans can follow their favorite pastime again, mass shootings. The lockdowns must have been hell over there
Mass shootings in areas with strict gun control, don't forget that part!
Right, like Waco, Texas, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
What means "with strict gun control" ? Are people not allowed to carry guns in NY ?
That's more or less how it is. Nearly all big cities have rules in place making it difficult to simply carry a gun around legally.

I don't know exactly how it is in New York, but in the Bay Area you simply can't get a concealed carry permit. Legally such a thing exists but the sheriff's office just doesn't issue any. (corruption scandal excluded)

Residents must be licensed to posses a handgun, and are strictly limited in when they may carry it. (i.e. you better be headed to/from the range or hunting if you have a handgun on you). Getting a license is not a guaranteed thing.

Non-residents may not posses a handgun in the city at all. The concept of Peacable Journey is basically ignored in NYC.

I can't wait to get run over at the bazaar during my european holiday.
I first read about this on reddit, but the links are now nowhere near the front page. Typically, events like this would be the top story for most of the day. "Sunset Park" is currently the #1 trending topic on twitter. Reddit commenters on the r/news thread are blaming changes to the algorithm and moderation. I wonder how accurate these assumptions are.
