I'm curious why MacOS allows you to disable the "Quit" function of a program. How does that work? Is this a common thing on other operating systems? Will this app still respond to a Force Quit request?
I bet force quit will work, but it’s not necessary to disable it for this “business model” to work. Most people don’t use force quit frequently enough to even remember its existence when faced with a situation like this.
"Force quit", the one when you alt-right-click the dock icon, doesn't ask the app about anything. For an app that froze, you may need to do it twice. The second time it always kills the app immediately in my experience.
Yeah, and just deleted yet another Apple app that won’t let me get past the premium version at first startup.

Had to do a forced power down of iPhone to escape this.

Hello, Apple support?

You can flick apps off the top of the screen while in the app switcher to close them. Not advised for normal use, but when apps misbehave it's very useful.

Not if an OS Prompt awaiting for your PIN code is blocking your ability to do this flick-up/long-press/flick-up-kill.

Hence, power down remains the only option left.

Which prompt was this, exactly?

It looks like there's a link to "continue with limited version" but that isn't addressed in the original tweets. Unsure if it works or not
