Given many people name their WiFi networks after their name or something identifying and have too many devices set to connect to the already-set SSID, this is a horrible practice from Mozilla and definitely does not adhere to it's statements on privacy [1].

Additionally, many networks' WiFi addresses are simply unchangeable for a number of reasons, including lack of admin access.

I think it's great that Mozilla gives some semblance of control of one's privacy, but in the end, there's absolutely no reality where Firefox can claim it's focused on privacy [2].

[2] I would strongly suggest looking at Firefox's codebase for the telemetry code. It's really easy to find given its prevalence.
