Ask HN: What human-curated music streaming service do you recommend?

I feel like Spotify's recommender system is _too good_ for me because it keeps showing similar tracks and feels artificial sometimes. I'm looking for a streaming service that uses humans to create and curate playlists/radios. Can you suggest one?

I’m not sure this is what you’re looking for, but I love NTS Radio.

It’s basically 2 radio stations that both stream 24 hours a day. Different people host 1-2 hour shows once a week or month.

You can browse archives by host, mood, and genre tags. The app includes each show’s playlists, and you can search spotify for songs (at least in ios) played on each episode. It’s become one of my favorite music discovery tools. And it’s free.

soma.fm is great and has a wide range of channels.
Brave New Faves, once a week on Saturdays. It's not really a "streaming service" but you might enjoy it.
I would recommend New Music Friday podcast from All Songs Considered (NPR). It's great for discovering new album releases.
