Many large accounts are empirically reporting sizable changes in their following, changes that track with their political views. The tweet in question has a lot of data to show but doesn't provide an explanation for the changes.

Thoughts?

I stupidly checked out twitter today, risking getting sucked in.

So many accounts came back today that I didn't realize were gone/banned.

So many people posting covid misinformation today without worry about censors?

Flipside, wow so many others are quitting? It's not that they hate free speech; they've had it. They hate that other people now have it.

Free speech shouldn’t involve politics, but one side sure is upset over someone protecting it right now.

That does not make any sense. Suppose I was upset that other people now have free speech; how would me quitting twitter affect it in any way? If I really wanted to somehow (what whatever reason) prevent others from having free speech, how would me closing my twitter account achieve that?

The reason I closed my twitter account yesterday is because I dislike Musk and do not particularly want to participate in his social media platform.

They really don't want to see what the censored people have to say.

That seems fine with me.

I generally dont do social media. Best to stay away.

People hate nazis and fake news… that was the only thing being censored: hate speech and fake science.
And yet somehow the CDC, Fauci and the rest of Covid Inc. persisted just fine. I guess the jihad against fake science didn't go far enough.
Ya COVID isn’t real. I’m sure you’re right.
Bunch of people who left twitter came back to see whats going on today, most are conservatives, and are following conservatives.
The new numerology feels like science doesn't it.

Just find numbers, and demand an explanation of .... the numbers you found? But really imply some nonsense and demand a refutation of the nonsense you created.

What I'm wondering is why it even matters. Is a twitter follower count important for anything?
It's important for marketing. Also, it can help get verified, which certainly helps if you have a book to sell, or you'd like to offer lectures, or you'd like to become a "thought leader."
