Folks over the past year, it seems to me, are not especially enthused about posting comments on HN. But unless this question is an experiment to see how people project meaning onto a vague, ambiguous question, I suggest that you ask your question in a more straightforward manner. At the risk of "leading the witness" it might also help to give an example response.
More or less I feel somewhat in a rut, feeling not productive enough. I am curious what things have worked well for others to become more productive in their lives.
I am recently retired, but when I was working I found that if my work was highly constrained I didn't get much job satisfaction and wasn't particularly motivated. When my own strengths and interests were taken into consideration, I felt more challenged, motivated, and productive.
I like to think I've already had my miracle year, but I want to prove that's not the case in the future and have truly earth shattering years where I really got sh*t done.
2012 - I needed money like crazy due to external circumstances, so I worked 75 hours a week (real number) with complete focus. It worked out extremely well, just had to cut back in 2013 to stave off burn out and get my body back to better physical shape.
