Completely off topic, but I'm amazed the word "meme" was used like this in 2002. I had thought the term meme came into usage due to 4chan which was a few years later...

I'm aware of the actual origin, it's the fact that it's used this way to refer to online "memes" even back then. It was due to the online usage that the term was adopted in wider popular usage.
