I'm surprised at how resilient smartphone (particularly iPhone) prices have been. If anything, they've gone up (to be fair, phones have also gotten bigger). But it seems to me that the current price levels are completely unjustifiable given technology trends and the economies of scale.

Surely at some point these things should become a commodity right?
