“It’s not a bug, it’s a feature”
The article has been updated an Apple acknowledged it’s a bug
Now it's like Apple is openly inviting governments to crackdown on it for anticompetitive behavior.
Let's not forget that Apple Music will also auto-open if you connect headphones.
It can be disabled, but it's super annoying.

Whoever chose to give apple music reign of the roost deserves to burn, for the inexcusable idiocy of it.

Good defaults are important. There have been constant legal fights against abuse of defaults for decades now (IE, Chrome, search engines, etc). It's time Apple gets served a lawsuit to stop abusing its position as the default software gatekeeper.
wrt iOS, not MacOS

Which is interesting: I didn’t even consider it would be referring to mobile devices, while in reality I don’t think the author, editor or even readers would think it would be referring to the Mac OS dock. Mobile devices really are the default now

I genuinely did not know iOS had a dock until this comment.
