Ask HN: What's an email provider you would entrust your business with?

2 points by notum ↗ HN
Since self-hosting email is still not viable in 2022, I'm looking for a reliable and secure provider to entrust my business email with.

I'm currently using Gandi but they don't support hosting email for domains not registered with them, and that's becoming a limiting factor.

Protonmail is nice but the bridge encrypt/decrypt app looks too cumbersome, and I would like my email on all of my devices, natively.

WebDAV and similar tie-ins are optional.

Thanks!

Google Workplace (formerly gsuite) is trusted by many businesses. Been using it myself 5+ years without issue. The normal google critiques seemingly do not apply to paid accounts
As in: support exists and can be reached?
I've been able to reach google by email & phone, though not sure if I have ever needed to for GSuite? There are paid plans for gcloud to get more responsive support.

The idea you believe about google is supported by anecdotal stories. Those who have no issue rarely relate their story.

That's fair. I must confess, the vocal negatives were a part of my reason not to consider gApps/gSuite/workspaces. Thank you.
Thanks! None of these seem to support wildcard aliases, in fact they all use limited aliases to augment their revenue stream, which is a shame.
Hi Tutanota team here. We saw this discussion and wanted to jump in. Tutanota supports catch-all for your custom domain so you can use an unlimited number of aliases for incoming mail. Let us know if you have any questions!
