A Review of Sails.js in 2022 (gist.gg)

I used to use long ago. That sort of thing seems very heavy to me now. These days I prefer just gluing something together with polka and MikroORM, and some express middleware (works with polka). If I wanted something more structured out-of-the-box, I would reach for NestJS or AdonisJS.

It is also notable that there is no typescript support - either in the core or through third party declarations.
