Ask HN: HN – Will M$ counter META with a BLIZZARDesqq universe of their own?

Seems to me that "World of Warcraft" is pretty much a metaverse already with multi-dimensional, cross realm instances etc., and considering Battle.net's VOIP features, I can't figure out what META can offer that is not possible with BLZ. already. Other than a bit of code for a headset (Probably already exists in an addon...I haven't checked) and maybe a subscription free F2P scheme.

Is it possible that M$ is just waiting for the right time to enter the fray?
