Ask HN: Limit HN Browsing to Specific Time or Place?

Inspired by a recent Ask HN poster who mentioned limiting browsing of HN to AM bathroom.

I wonder, have some people tried limiting HN browsing to a specific time or place? And if so did they find that helped improve their focus?

But if they don't browse HN, does that mean that they just stare at code the whole day?

I block all social media on my work computer, via hosts file

Does it work reliably? I remember trying this on my Windows machine eg. /etc/hosts and I could still get through sometimes.

I just look HN during breaks or when no work is assigned to me
