Ask HN: Do you talk to family and friends on the phone?

I feel like I'm talking to family and friends on the phone very rarely as we now have texting and social media to keep up. But I also do enjoy the times I get to have phone calls with people, but it's rare now .

Do you still talk on the phone with people? How do you decide when it's appropriate to call?

Way more video calls. Especially if you have kids.

That's true. Video calls and phone calls are the same thing in my mind. Taking explicit time out of your day to spend time talking to someone.

What if you've no Internet and Whatsapp etc is not an option? Then you have to use the old fashioned Phone App
