"G Suite" was an office suite for businesses. Started more than a decade ago. Supported @company.com email addresses, an administrator account to manage up to 10 other company accounts, some access control settings, paid plans for more storage, and so on.
They renamed it to "Google Workspace" recently and those who had signed up when it was "G Suite" became legacy G Suite users.
I have both regular gmail accounts and a "G Suite" domain. Everybody gets the same Gmail, Drive, Docs, etc. "G Suite" accounts just see a few different settings and permissions.
