Elon is very exposed right now. He could move to Mars and all his ventures would continue to move forward. Under normal circumstances he could move on but he sees the horizon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_American_Civil_War
If this war happens, he's toast. The north american operations being disrupted by war would devastate his wealth. He is very incentivized to prevent the war. His only true goal is trying to end the censorship and allow conversations to happen again.

Oh yes, he'll find somebody to run the company and be able to be outsold in his own backyard by the mighty Mazda. Or maybe his replacement could even close the gap with the mighty Mazda, who knows?
> He is very incentivized to prevent the war.
People who constantly talk about the war, they aren't trying to prevent it..they want a role as a General with one of the sides.
Musk was a neutral, he saw one big star General on the Red Team retire (Trump) and decided to abandon his neutrality to try and get that job.
>Mazda sold more vehicles than Tesla in the US, which is Tesla's own backyard.
Looking at the public sales figures for 2022:
Brand January February March
Mazda 21,079 28,166 33,023
Tesla 99,215 99,214 111,617
What do you think Tesla needs to do to close the gap to mazda?
Tesla should dismantle and reverse engineer Mazda's mx30. 143hp and 161km range is so excellent for Mazda's first EV. Mazda did such a great job with the MX30 they don't have any plans to build any other evs.
