The dominant culture on this planet is thoroughly screwed but we don't have to be.

To quote George Carlin: "The planet is fine. The people are fucked."

Not as bad as you might think. If you have a longer time horizon, you know that the war in Ukraine will end, Putin will cease to be on the world stage, grain will flow again from Odessa, Europe's dependency on fossil fuels (Russian, or othewise) will be permanently reduced, ushering in an accelerated adoption of green tech. Inflation will ease, and we'll be off to the races again.
