Digital Ocean vs. Linode Cloud Platform

No mention of the fact Digital Ocean has an entire app platform that Linode doesn’t.

That's not it, they're referring to Digital Ocean App Platform, their Google App Engine-like SaaS offering: https://www.digitalocean.com/products/app-platform

both are still much more expensive than KVM vps with more cores/ram/bandwidth and storage.
