Ask HN: Has the 'hackerne.ws' domain been especially unstable lately?

When I tried to go to the domain, it loads the speed of a turtle and warns me about it using HTTP (I set to use HTTPS by default), then it loads for a long amount of time until my browser says the connection is timed out. So yeah, likely that the domain is either dead, or being hijacked with huge traffic.

It’s an unofficial HN proxy, isn’t it? Not operated by HN or YC? Why does anyone use it?
