You are all filthy rich, just buy an island in the Bahamas or BVI and there you'll get to establish what the current thing is based on your preferences.
Geez...the petulancy of rich people in California (and Californians who moved to Austin) is something else.
At least NYC can put all these sociopaths to work given the large amount of museums, theatres, charter schools and areas in need of reconditioning such as Harlem or Alphabet City.
Without structure these people are left to their own ruminations and then proceed to shitpost about it on twitter.
Rich people have this sort of "everybody who is not me is either evil or a slacker" mentality.
It's true for both sides, matter of fact it's true for every side and everywhere.
But the petulancy of rich Californians is unrivaled, they don't even pretend to put together a coherent argument to express why people should put them in charge of organizations. "Current thing" what the hell does it even mean?
At least John Kerry and Larry Fink, the Davos crowd and all the proponents of ESG go through the effort of producing some 1500 pages documents with figures and numbers as opposed to blurting into the ether stuff like: "The current thing is truth"
I disagree about the petulance of rich Californians. Their petulance -- along with the persecution complex many rich Californians exhibit -- is generally exceeded by working-class white conservative Christians, incels, and Reddit users who have just gotten downvoted.
Not to mention Madison Cawthorn (R-Narnia). His petulance in the wake of his primary defeat and being dragged out of the closet threatens to eclipse that of his entire constituency.
Many people in the Twitter thread seem confused about the meme. I think it's a great meme. Let me attempt to explain.
It's a criticism of slacktivism, ignorance, and virtue signaling. The grey character in the center is an NPC (Non-Player Character), long used by both political spheres to represent someone who thinks so little they are "not human".
I've met people who support the CURRENT THING. I talked to this woman who was flying a Ukrainian flag in front of her house. The conversation went something like this:
Why is Putin attacking Ukraine? - I don't know.
How is the war going? Who is winning? - I don't know.
Have you donated to any charities to help Ukrainians? - No.
Have you thought about donating? Calling Congress? Taking refugees even? - No, no, no.
Why are you flying a Ukrainian flag? - FUCK WAR FUCK PUTIN SLAVA UKRAINE SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!!1!
The implication, of course, is that it doesn't matter what CURRENT THING is, this woman will probably support it.
The best part is the response of the left. I saw that someone replaced all the flags and symbols with Qanon and MAGA. Both those ideas are worth criticizing, but it doesn't make sense with the format, and that indicates a complete lack of understanding on the parts of the people posting it. People are also saying it's a "pro-Putin" meme, again indicating total misunderstanding. A self-fulfilling prophecy, really.

I do not know Marc but judging a person’s character and mental state based on their social class seems low.
