Nuclear startup Avalanche Energy has modest funding, a skeleton crew, a pocket-sized prototype — and grand ambitions.
Yeah their front page describes five means of doing fusion, and then a supposed demo unit.
This is perilously close to a zero point energy scam. If they can generate sustained positive energy from suitcase fusion, let's see at least one published paper.
My guess is that the demo unit can do some fusion, but it's not sustainable. (Like all the other 4 technologies listed in their page.)
I'm not sure that this is a scam, but I can't find a good technical description in their page. The description in the main page somewhat makes sense, but it feels like technobabble.
