Not able to add a comment to existing discussion

Why I am not able to add comments related to Cloudflare articles https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30584410 and https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30893476? I see previous comments, but no “add comment” button, only “submit “ menu at the top. I’ve posted https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31539559 but it seems not connected to original comments chain.

After 14 days discussions are closed and no further comments can be added. The first thread to link to is 82 days old. Realistically (almost) nobody will read it.

I personally think that disable comments after some period is a bad idea (I love stackoverlow).

Anyway the message that “The discussion is closed after 14 days” will be useful on each discussion page.
