Ask HN: Greek speaking devs, where do you hang out online?

3 points by stefanos82 ↗ HN
My English is quite mediocre and I wanted to find Greek speaking audience with negative results so far.

I have been trying to find blogs, forums, or what else and could not find anything particularly interesting.

I guess I'm typing the wrong keywords here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are quite a few slack communities, both domain specific and region specific. Start by checking out meetup.com for dev communities in your region and most will have a way to join online as well.
About meetup.com; for some reason it has no success where I live, apart from a couple of annual exceptions for topics unrelated to technology most of the time.

Now about slack communities, if you know any I would be more than grateful if you shared it with me.

Maybe try and identify where they have less common greek foods done well, and just... hang out?

That's how I've made hacker friends (find the club mate, find the friends), but they usually end up telling me they're just here for a convention or something then I'm back where I started.

Why Greece specifically?

I do not speak Greek, but I have contacts who speak languages that also have only ~15million or less speakers. |

They seem to just post about technical stuff in English then hang out in social spots more related to politics or sport in the native language, but I never pressed since they were guests in my country, and I try to give people the privacy to talk amongst themselves so they don't spaz out.

I said "Greek speaking devs", that is anyone who speaks and writes in Greek; I never said Greece anywhere in my original question.
Sorry, my bad, that was a very nationalistic way to write.

I'm just trying to be helpful.
