Cooked, safe, but raw looking steak could have a market today. "Raw foods" is a thing, right? Just the thing to gross out the vegan in-laws, too.

My parents did a short bit with some multilevel marketing scheme selling irradiated foods in the late 70s. I wound up eating a lot of the "salisbury steak" things; little "boil in bag" plastic pouched, non refrigerated meat bit that we got cases of in trade for publishing work I think. Quite good actually but looked as if someone had already tried to eat it and failed. I do not recall the color being reddish but they were covered in a gravy and soaked with who knows what dyes.

Well you can eat beef carpaccio or steak tartare, they are raw

So green eggs and ham is overcooked eggs and irradiated ham. TIL!
