I'm redirecting my career path from industrial maintenance management to software development.

I've done, among other things, over 10 years of code maintenance and functions extensions in a live industrial production environments.

My current preferred tool set: Python, PostgreSQL, Django, Git, Docker, Linux. Now I prefer boring tools which allow me to concentrate on the problem at hand.

I'm open to other tools as needed.

My most recent project is Polish law change monitoring service available at https://unkot.pl. The source code https://gitlab.com/stakent/unkot

In the past I've used go (golang), cython, neural networks with feedback loops running on CPUs, genetic programming.

I've designed and implemented event driven architecture with log based source of truth for the system which is distributed, eventually consistent, can work with unreliable network.

I'm a full stack developer with an emphasis on front end development – particularly focusing on performance, usability, and general user experience. I love making things look and feel great for users, and ensuring a degree of reliability and correctness that front ends deserve. I also enjoy building great APIs for other developers, making it so it's easier and more fluid to build great front ends with less expertise or experience.

My most recent work is an overhaul of https://instantdomainsearch.com and the leading the creation of the front end of https://instantdomains.com. Prior to that I've helped build a wide range of products from website builders to a robotic arm simulation environment for chemistry experiment automation. I love to explore, learn, and get better at my craft.

My goal is to join a team building great things for customers we really care about. I want to learn, teach, and share my experience. I'm motivated to deliver the best work I can, support a team I love working with, and build products I can take pride in. I'm looking for full time work, ideally.

I've worked on 100s of successful projects for Rockwell, Northrop Grumman, Adobe, Motorola, the DTIC, UK-NCIS, and many others. I was the sole software developer one year for 50% of the U.S. Vote and did the initial draft of one of Adobe's printer protocols. I've worked on my own Linux distro for 25 years and have patched and built 1,000s of FOSS packages in the process.

In my most recent role, discussed in the PDF, I had a patch to Linux kernel 5.17 accepted. It was a minor patch but made it possible for the project to support vanilla kernels.

I'm looking for 1099 work. I don't mind junior roles and/or "fill in the gaps" tasks.

Hey all, good morning here from the East Coast. I am a 11 year plus full stack software engineer looking for new opportunities. I invite all to check out my small blog and my GitHub as I am rather proud of all my documentation there. Some things notable about myself I was basically a founding engineer with Signal Foundation and myself came up with the name change "TextSecure" to "Signal". Also as far as I am aware I had the first OSS implementation of a limit order book online and my SDR project radiowitness is IMO pretty cool.

I, too, fix typos in open source readme's.

I get (because you said so below) that you were just joking, but even if you didn't mean to cast aspersion, it sort of still takes that form. Better not to do that on someone's job posting.

I'm seeking a backend software engineering role. I love finding and solving complex problems and collaborating with others.

Most recently, I built Hypha, an open-source observability framework that correlates logs and traces to make debugging distributed systems easier. https://teamhypha.com/

What the hell even is TCL? It's all over your profile.
TCL happens to be my first language. It is a command-based scripting language. Think Lisp, but where most things are also strings. Kinda hacky, but allows for very flexible syntax.

https://learnxinyminutes.com/docs/tcl/

This doesn't sound at all like a marketable skill :/
Sort of like Cobol or MUMPS. There are systems which adopted Tcl for some reason 20 years ago and now the whole business depends on it and they will pay whatever it takes to keep it running.
I don't imagine that there are many Tcl jobs listed.

The posting said that Joe is a Tcl/Tk maintainer; presumably why he puts this on his CV is not because of Tcl's current market share, but because being a maintainer for a historically widespread language reveals a skill set.

If you ever thought of embedding Lua into something, Tcl isn't a bad alternative.

It's a scripting language popular on Unix servers & workstations in the 90s. TK is a rapid gui kit.

Basically for everything you'd use a quick web based control panel for now, you'd connect to the server and start a tcl/tk script. It'd open up a gui you could control with X Windows.

There's probably still a lot of code out there.

Résumé/CV: https://www.nicholasjunge.com/cv.pdf

Email: nicho[dot]junge[at]gmail[dot]com

I'm a software dev with math/physics background, primarily focused on machine learning and data science/engineering. I can operate some other tools that fit the broader "MLOps" job description too, like Docker/Kubernetes, and some ML-related products of GCP and AWS. I did some webdev work in training visualizations for ML algorithms and for my personal website.

My main topics of study were statistics, ML, and analysis; I am fit in theoretical ML/DL concepts and numerical programming, allowing me to develop and implement performant algorithms.

On the side, I have been contributing to a couple of OSS projects, e.g. Google Benchmark and JAX. My latest project is pybm, a Python CLI for reproducibly benchmarking code throughout a git history. You can find it along with several other smaller projects in my github profile at https://github.com/nicholasjng.

I'm a university student interested in junior part-time / internship positions. I live in Poland and would strongly prefer remote. So far, I have mostly programmed in Golang. I have written several projects, including a web crawler, a support system for radio programs at an organization I worked with, and a simple, commandline flashcards utility. I'm open to learning new technologies and languages, I'm also open to dev ops and security-related roles. My email is my hn username at gmail dot com.
