6 inches or more, or else!!! i am in kansas the sunflower state. theres no sunflowers, no shade and they meticulously mow their lawns :/
I'm a Kansan as well. If you move to some areas of Kansas you don't have to mow at all for >half the summer since grass needs water to grow. :)
This looks cool in theory, but if there is one thing I have learnt about lawns in Texas, that would be that snakes love tall grass.
As a resident of the northeast, the hour I'd save by not mowing would be offset by the 3 hours a day I'd need to remove ticks from my dog and family.
I would love to stop mowing my lawn, but after the first warning from the local government, it becomes a $50 a day fine for grass over 8 (or is it 6?) inches.

However, there is an exemption for pollinator gardens…
