I’m not sure why stick builders haven’t embraced factory production of homes. Maybe local codes are prohibitive of this kind of development?
It seems it would be a lot easier to buy large tracts of land, build streets and utilities, and truck in houses that are built in a central location than to build onsite with local labor.
Maybe removing the chassis requirement would be a step towards this type of construction.
