The Beatles from "beatnik" not from a pun on musical beats
And the spelling of Led Zeppelin was intentionally a phonetic disambiguation, lest the band be misunderstood to be superlative on airships.
In Europe we did call the music of that time "Beat Music", in germany we had many pop music tv shows that were Beat this and Beat that (using the English word)

I met Rod Davis in 2016, I should have asked him, but I always assumed they were named after their style of music.

Eh,words out of context outside cultural peers are meaningless.
Wordplay was actually quite on brand for The Beatles. Their albums are riddled with little jokes and puns. Revolver. Rubber Soul. etc. The author of this post chose a poor lead example.
Calling beetles "unremarkable, ugly insects"? Ancient Egypt begs to differ.

Also, calling your school band "The Nemesis" sounds unbearably conceited.

Beetles are keeping the slug population under control in my yard.

Last research I saw on the subject, earthworms don't increase soil carbon... unless there is a healthy beetle population (predators) pushing the worms farther underground. Without predators, herbivores make a mess.
