As some who works partially with marketing... this is exactly how it works. We build what reflects our incentives.
For certain topics you get sites that are just click farms with articles that are clearly written by bots. I guess they found the latest SEO trick and normal content cannot compete. Funny thing is that this problem got far, far worse the more Google committed to fight "misinformation". Doesn't seem to be too successful...

The URLs often contain "marketing" and similar. These are clearly sites that analyze the latest buzz and let their bots duplicate the ever same texts. As I said, pure click farming and it really hurts the internet as a whole.
