Employees are responsible for themselves to a degree. Same goes for employers.
It is not the responsibility of employees to fix what an employer is doing wrong, unless they are paid for it. In other words, if an employee is mistreated or burnt out, it is the responsibility of the employer to fix it, and the only expectation from the employee should be the decision of either staying or leaving.
