I wonder why companies and their CEOs take more political stands than they used to. The conventional wisdom was to stay out of politics to avoid alienating half your customer base. Was that wrong?
1. Maybe it doesn't matter to alienate some percentage, if that percentage doesn't buy your products.
2. Musk is an outlier. His companies may take a hit, but he's imperious enough that he doesn't care. He also doesn't have a mass market company except for Tesla. See (1) above for why that might not matter.
Not a fan but I understand his position, seems both parties are alienating more of the population with a problematic indifference.
Republican party does seem open to a larger amount of uncertainty. My understanding is Trump was a Democrat until his presidential run was obstructed due to Dem risk intolerance.
