It wants me to login via Google (sigh) and then login doesn't work. Why does a reading plugin even need a Google account?
How else would they know who to recommend dyslexia/SSS/ADHD related products and services to?
We apologize for the inconvenience this caused you :( Restarting the browser will probably fix this problem.

We are requiring google sign in only to collect feedback from our users regarding improving the extension. Also, to manage subscription to premium features in the coming versions.

We are working on a new version now to make the extension doesn't require any login for a week to resolve this issue. So, if the user likes the extension will keep it and if not they can just uninstall it without worrying about sharing their email address with us

It doesn't. I assume your extension tries to use Chrome's connection to the user's Google account, but I'm not logged into my Google account. Mostly because I only use Chrome for web development/testing, but I was curious about how the features would work for me. Of course that makes me a rather irrelevant minority of the userbase.

What would help people with dyslexia or ADHD with the Wikipedia page in the screenshot is actually having some web design that understand how typography works.

While I think it's admirable that people want "to go back to simpler web pages without all this CSS nonsense" there's a bloody good reason why people do things like set text divs to be about the width of your hand on screen.

Newspaper publishers understood this 200-odd years ago.

> set text divs to be about the width of your hand

I don't think going this far makes sense, if I have to jump through three lines just to read a single sentence with a lot of words broken up between lines I don't think that helps my reading flow.

Just filling the whole width of the browser window isn't good either though, I agree on that.

Find a page that's comfortable to read, at a comfortable distance to the screen.

Hold your hand up to the screen.

How wide is the text div?

Instead of "fixing" every page with CSS, maybe the default style sheet is wrong and should be fixed?
Requires login sign in; why? I thought this could be useful, but now, I can't even try it myself, let alone recommend it to colleagues.

If anyone has experience with useful extensions that help dyslexia/ADHD, please share those, that'd be helpful.

I have found the fonts at <https://opendyslexic.org/> to be helpful. It is actually harder to read and in turn slows you down, so there are less errors.
I find these fonts work very well.

I saw another method recently that highlights certain letters in a word to be bold and doesnt need to change the font. The test examples were very easy for me to read.

Unfortunately I didn't bookmark it and now can't find it!

We are working on this for next version. We will also give the ability to set the color as well besides the bold option
We already provide OpenDyslexic font with other font options as well. Also, we give the ability to increase the font size and bold the font. And spacing options to increase space between lines, words, and even letters. Not to mention the Line Highlighting ruler for focused reading and screen shading

Why Chrome-only? I don't use Chrome.
I have tried a bunch of these fonts and other tools. But for me zooming in, making the font bigger and/or using reading mode is the best solution for me. By making the font bigger the sentences get shorter and it easier to read.
Nice idea. On a releated note I've found Firefox's reader view absolutely excellent for this too.
Thank you for your reply :) Let us know if you have any suggestions or new features to improve our extension
There are laws about advertising something as a remedy for a medical condition.
There are laws about advertising healthcare products/drugs/medical devices, and I dont think this browser extension falls under either of those categories. Of course there are plenty other categories that have their own advertisement laws, but i cannot think of any that could reasonably apply here as the closest approximation of "remedy for a medical condition". Just like f.lux or dark mode aren't healthcare products either.
Advertising something as a remedy for a condition could land you in hot water. Not my problem either way, but these are just facts.
oh wow requires google sign in, i sure do hope it doesn't use this to show me targeted ads.

We don't sell the data to any third party neither going to use our users data for marketing. We already declared that to Chrome Web Store and we got approved
