I think Elon is so focused on technology of going to Mars, he doesn't realize something: you need to get along with the people you might die with. THis doesn't register on someone who has an admitted mental illness that makes it difficult for him to have empathy.
"We care deeply about SpaceX’s mission to make humanity multiplanetary. But more importantly, we care about each other. The collaboration we need to make life multiplanetary is incompatible with a culture that treats employees as consumable resources. Our unique position requires us to consider how our actions today will shape the experiences of individuals beyond our planet. Is the culture we are fostering now the one which we aim to bring to Mars and beyond?"
Also, it's hip, cute, and puerile (and cringe) to use "no asshole" in corporate memos, but that is no substitute for actual policy.
Yet another hit piece. The Verge is one of the single worst publications on the internet. I can believe a small number of employees might try this based on the size of the workforce, but the idea that the company is in revolt is ridiculous. For the woke scolds at the Verge, this kind of journalisim as a weapon is nothing out of the ordinary.

So they can tell us the contents of the letter but not reveal the number of signatures? Really?
